Ursula Rabe

Copperas Cove

Ursula Elfrida Rabe, age 60, of Copperas Cove, TX passed away on October 3, 2020, in Temple, TX.

Ursula E. Rabe was born in Forchheim, Germany to Emil Winterbauer and Dorothia Steier on January 27, 1960.  She is the youngest of three siblings.  Ursula has always had a tremendous love for children.  Never having any children of her own, her love of children led her to open a small in-home daycare.  She cared for children for the majority of her life. Even twenty plus years later, after her beloved “children” grew up, they still affectionately referred to her as “Aunt Uschi”.  She also spent 7 years working in a Nursing Home Facility before she became a full-time homemaker.

Ursula definitely had an unforgettable and lively personality. She most certainly possessed the gift of honesty and would not hesitate to tell her truth, whether you asked for it or you didn’t.  Even in her last days, the doctors and nurses caring for her said, “She is definitely a fighter. She’s a spicey one!”  She was also known as an extremely kind and selfless person.  Even though she did not have much, if you were a person in need, she would give you the shirt off her back without hesitation.

One of Ursula’s happiest moments in life was when she got saved and baptized on her birthday, January 27, 2013, at Jesus Name Apostolic Ministery.  Her relationship with God and her church family became a very important and pivotal part of her life.

Ursula E. Rabe is preceded in death by her father Emil Winterbauer and her nephew Maurice Moore.

Ursula E. Rabe is survived by her sister, Lydia Moore, her brother Tony Obuchow, her nieces Deanna Babineaux and Tiffany Moore, her nephew Charles Babineaux, and 2 great-nephews, Kaiden and LJ and 2 great-nieces, Brianna and Annelise.

A Memorial Service will be held on October 8, 2020, at 11:00 am at Jesus Name Apostolic Ministery located at 314 Casa Dr. Copperas Cove, TX with Pastor Davis, of Jesus Name Apostolic Ministery, officiating.   Arrangements are made by Viss Family Funeral Home.  Flowers may be sent directly to the church. The family has asked that all those in attendance adhere to social distancing guidelines and wear a mask.

The family of Ursula Rabe wishes to extend our sincere thanks to all the doctors and nurses of Scott & White Hospital, the medical staff at Lampasas Kidney Center, and anyone who was involved in caring for Ursula.  We would like to send a special thank you to all of the church members of Jesus Name Apostolic Ministery, in particular Pastor Davis, First Lady Ann Davis, and Ms. Sylvia.  We cannot thank you enough for caring for “Aunt Uschi” during the good times and the bad. Last but certainly not least, we would like to thank the love of her life, Greg Moody, for being her support system, her life partner, friend, and confidant for all these years.
