SFC William Frank Anders, U.S. Army, ret.

William Frank Anders, 82, of Copperas Cove, passed away on Monday, April 18, 2022. A visitation will be held from 4:00 - 6:00 pm, on Thursday, April 21, 2022, at Viss Family Funeral Home, 1614 S FM 116, Copperas Cove, TX 76522. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am, on Friday, May 6, 2022, at Copperas Cove City Cemetery with full military honors. 

Frank was born on May 19, 1939, to Frank T. and Mildred E. (Smith) Anders in Chicago, Illinois. Frank joined the United States Army at just 17 years old and later married Vicki Ann Rogers on December 24, 1966, in Bloomington, Illinois.

While Frank and Vicki were stationed in Germany with the U.S. Army,  they adopted their son, William Phillip Anders, when he was just nine months old. He became an American citizen when he was just two years old.

Frank was a member of Grace United Methodist Church of Copperas Cove and served as a chaplain for the American Legion, 40/8, and the Disabled American Veterans Organization. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and acting as a referee for billiards tournaments in Las Vegas.

Frank was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, and his son, Phillip in May of 2000.

Frank is survived by his wife of over 55 years, Vicki Ann Anders, and a multitude of friends.
