Matthew Lane Thompson

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear son, grandson, brother, and friend, Matthew Lane Thompson, on April 3, 2023, at the young age of 18. A celebration of life service is scheduled for Saturday, April 22, 2023 at 11:00 AM at  Viss Family Funeral Home, 1614 South FM 116, Copperas Cove, Texas. 

Matthew was born on November 5, 2004, in Killeen, Texas but spent the majority of his life in Copperas Cove, Texas. Matthew filled all of our lives with love and joy from the moment he came into this world. His curiosity as a child and funny antics as a teen made him a great friend and the life of any party. He was his sisters’ best friend, his brothers’ role model, and his parent’s pride and joy.

Matthew was looking forward to graduating from Copperas Cove High School this spring and attending Texas State Technical College in the fall. He loved baseball, wrestling with his brothers, working at Domino’s Pizza, and hanging out with his friends.

He is survived by his parents, Chantal and Richard Smith; his sisters, Alexia, McKenzie, Isabelle, and Stormie; his brothers, A.J., Lucius, and Nolan; as well as his uncle Mike and aunt Melissa; and countless other aunts, uncles, grandparents, cousins, and other assorted family and many caring friends.
