Landis was born on February 5, 1992, in Smithfield, NC to Rodney and Pamela Bryant Watson. Landis attended school in Smithfield-Selma and graduated in 2010. Early on in his life, he learned to play the drums and was proud to be on the drumline during his high school years. Landis’s humorous nature brought joy to people by always looking to make someone laugh or bring a smile to their faces. After his time in the Army came to a close, Landis worked to receive his peace officer’s license. He wanted to continue his service which led him to working for the sheriff’s office in Bell County. His heart for service was very evident to all those who knew him. In his spare time, he loved playing video games with his son, going to the gun range, drawing, and spending time with family.

Landis was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Saundra and Howell Jefferson, NC.
