Kelli Marie Paulus

November 28, 1965 ~ October 13, 2020 (age 54)

Kelli Marie Paulus, 54, of San Diego California, passed away on October 13, 2020, in Kempner, Texas.

Kelli was born in Glendora, California to Tom and Bunny Sheffler on November 28, 1965.  She attended school at Mt. Carmel High School in San Diego, California, and later attended Palomar Jr. College for general education in 1983 and 1984.  Kelli married Rene (Reno) Paulus on April 29, 1990, in La Jolla, California   She worked as an Administrative Assistant for the La Jolla YMCA for many years, until her full-time job became being a mother of three beautiful children.

Kelli loved the beach and she missed it dearly. She was a good friend to many over the years but, life, time, and distance caused some connections and friends to drift from the surface, but they always remained in her heart. In recent years, Kelli kept to herself but the smiles she had when recounting times with friends and family were priceless. She never forgot any of you.

Kelli loved the people close to her so much that would she often put others in front of her needs, cares, dreams, and wants. Kelli was the type of person who would give you the shirt off her back. She had the type of hugs that could ease any worries you had and make it feel like everything was going to be okay.

Kelli is preceded in death by her mother, Bunny; Uncle Denny and Uncle Fred; her in-laws, Heinze and Inge Paulus; brother-in-law, Robert John (Bobby) Paulus; and sister-in-law, Yvonne. Paulus

Kelli is survived by her husband, Rene (Reno) Paulus; children, Megan and husband, Jermaine Jackson, Tyler and wife, Emily Paulus, RJ Kevin Paulus; sister-in-law, Denise Paulus; brothers, Don and wife, Rachell Shreffler, Patrick and wife, Caren Sheffler, Michael and wife, Alyssa Sheffler, and Kevin; her father, Tom Sheffler; several aunts and uncles; three nieces; eight nephews; and several cousins that she loved so much.

The Paulus family wishes to extend our sincere thanks to all the great friends and family that have reached out. We are truly blessed to have so many people that care about the wellbeing of our family.
