John Anthony Drew, age 85, of Copperas Cove, passed away on Monday, February 14, 2022, in Killeen.

A Memorial Mass will be held at 11 am, March 11, 2022, at Holy Family Catholic Church, 1001 Georgetown Rd in Copperas Cove. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm, April 2, 2022, at Greenwood Memorial Cemetery in Fort Worth, Texas.

John was born on July 22, 1936, in Mercedes, Texas to the late Earl Edwin Drew, Sr. and Scholastica Mary Bretz. He attended school in Mercedes, Texas, and graduated as Valedictorian from Mercedes High School in 1954. He earned his bachelor's degree in accounting from Stephen F. Austin State University and later earned his CPA certification. John also served in the United States Army for three years. John married Fay Barnett on May 1, 1976, in Dallas, Texas.

John loved playing basketball in high school and went to college on a basketball scholarship. He was a faithful member of Holy Family Catholic Church. He was also a fourth degree and served as a faithful navigator and financial secretary with the Knights of Columbus. The family would like to thank Eddie Ganceres, Michael Dewees, and the many friends from Holy Family church who loved and took care of John.

John was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Fay Drew; sister, Mary Johnson; and his brother, Earl Edward Drew.

John is survived by several nieces and nephews and his beloved cat, A.C.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial may be made to Holy Family Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus, or the charity of your choice.
