Jimmie Lee Warthen, age 65, of Copperas Cove, passed away on Wednesday, May 26, 2021, in Killeen. A Memorial Graveside will be held at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, June 16, 2021, at the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen with military honors.

Jimmie was born on February 28, 1956, in Davisboro, Georgia to the late Betty Warthen. He married Linda Howell in 1981 at Fort Myer, Arlington County, Virginia. They were married for 31 years before she passed in 2012. He graduated from David T. Howard High School, Atlanta, Georgia in 1974. In 1978, he joined the United States Army and served for 17 years. After his time with the military, he worked for Maytag Aircraft on Fort Hood. He retired in 2011, and he enjoyed spending time with family and fishing when he could. Jimmie later married Virginia Lovejoy Romine in Copperas Cove and they enjoyed many years together.

Jimmie was preceded in death by his mother, Betty Jean Warthen Rowling; stepfather, Willard Rowling Sr.; his wife, Linda Warthen; and his beloved grandmother, Ouida Warthen.

Jimmie is survived by wife, Virginia Warthen; children, Rodney Warthen, Arnetta Warthen; two grandchildren, Lathan Warthen and Janea White; three brothers, Bennie Brinson, Darryl Rowling, Willard Rowling, Jr.; ten nieces and nephews, Paricasso Poole, Micheal Poole, Breanna Brinson, Jemelanie Rowling, Dante Rowling, Carmen Rowling, Palmecia Rowling, Destini Rowling, Bryce Rowling, and Treyshaun Rowling; three stepchildren, Anya Lovejoy, Morgan Lovejoy, Jacqueline Lovejoy; three step-grandchildren, Ciara Ryan, Savanna Walker, Nevea Cruz; numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be given to the Wounded Warrior Project.
