James Byron Malone, 62, of Kempner, passed away on Wednesday, September 1, 2021. A Graveside Service will be held at 10 AM, Wednesday, September 8, 2021, at the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery. Visitation will be from 7- 9 PM, Tuesday, September 7, 2021, at Viss Family Funeral Home, 1614 S FM 116, Copperas Cove, TX 76522.

James was born in Fayetteville, Tennessee to George and Julia Malone. He graduated from Garden City West High School in Garden City, Michigan. After high school, he joined the United States Army and served for 8 1/2 years earning the rank of E5. James was an employee of the City of Copperas Cove for 35 years and worked his way up as a Senior Plant Operator for the  NE Waste Water Treatment Center. In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting and fishing. He will be remembered for his loyalty and dedication to the City of Copperas Cove and his family.

James is preceded in death by his father, George E. Malone.

James is survived by his mother, Julia E. Malone; three brothers, Michael, Timothy, and David Malone; one sister, Mary Ann Malone-Wiles; Debbie Malone; his children, Christie and spouse John, Samuel and spouse Marlaina, Darrel and spouse Meaghan; and his six grandchildren, Savannah, Sierra, Aiden, Ryder, Evelyn, and Molly.
