Helen Julia Albrecht

Helen Julia Albrecht, 81, of Copperas Cove, passed away on March 10, 2023.

A visitation will be held from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on Saturday, March 18, 2023, at Viss Family Funeral Home.

Helen was born on December 31, 1941, as the second of 18 kids, to William and Julia (Schubert) Hayes in Prairie Du Chien, Wisconsin. She grew up in Saint Paul, Minnesota and lived there until she married Gary Albrecht Sr in April of 1958. The couple relocated to Siren, Wisconsin and then later to San Diego, California. Helen and Gary continued to move to be closer to family, but ultimately settled in Central Texas and lived for the last 16 years.

Helen was an adoring grandmother to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved to travel and take vacations.

She is preceded in death by her parents, William and Julia Hayes; and children, Mark Albrecht, Craig Albrecht, and Julie Albrecht.

She is survived by her husband of 64 years and 11 months, Gary R. Albrecht Sr.; children, Gary Albrecht Jr and Wendy Laurent and her husband, Warren; grandchildren, Steve Duke, Shelby Albrecht, Malissa Rico, Michael Hunter, Francisco Rico Sr., Anthony Norfolk and his wife, Danevia, Hannah Nickle and Peter Hernandez, and Christopher Allen; and great-grandchildren, Gwendolyn Norfolk, Isabella Norfolk, Layne Duke, Javen Duke, Brianna Albrecht, Lilliana Rico, Lucillia Rico, Francisco Rico Jr., Ricardo Rico, and Ariah Hunter.
