Christy Diane Shykes Singer Parrish was born on August 4, 1956, in Alexandria, Louisiana to the late Paul and Arma Mathews Shykes. She spent her early years growing up around the United States while her dad served in the United States Air Force. She graduated from Putnam City West High School in Oklahoma City, OK. Christy cherished being a mom and grandmother more than anything in the world. She had two sons, Shane Shykes Singer (children Kayla, Kyle, and Jesse) and Lee Parrish (children Brenton and Alison) and one daughter, Maremah Singer Young (husband Andrew Young and children Andrea, Dyvonte, Jaida, Amaria, Mariah, and Imani). She married Johnny Parrish in McAlister, Oklahoma but they later divorced. She met Ray Singer in Butte, Montana and they married and divorced but always remained friends.
Christy loved helping people which led to a career as a CNA, a job she also loved because she was able to work alongside her mom for many years. She was proud to graduate from Montana Technological University in Butte, Montana with degrees in Human Resources and Accounting. This led to jobs working in management and customer relations. When Maremah and Andrew settled in Killeen, Christy followed. She retired from Touch America in 2019. She loved spending time outdoors and she was a great cook, specializing in holiday dinners and she loved to swim whether it was in a lake or a pool.
Christy was preceded by her parents and her son, Shane Shykes Singer.
She is survived by her daughter, Maremah Young, and her family in Killeen and her son, Lee Parrish, and his family in Copperas Cove; her sister, Clarisa Hogart and husband, Mike of Butte, Montana; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins; and her friend, Ray Singer in Superior, Montana.
